OUR SERVICES: TRACEABILITY

Fostering an open and transparent approach

Enhance your reputation by developing relationships that last.

Product transparency and traceability has become an integral priority for the textile and clothing industry in much the same way as it has with many other fast food commodities.

Consumers have become more discerning with a desire to know more about the origin of their purchases.

Brands are working hard to become more robust in the assurances that they can provide regarding their supply chains, with many aspirating to provide 100% traceable material in their supply chains by 2030.

Being open and transparent in the way you do business builds trust between you and your partners and suppliers, fostering greater collaboration and shared learning that can drive improvements and shared value for everybody.

We help brands and retailers connect with the farmers at the other end of the supply chain. Our relationships with all links in the chain means we are able to trace garments back from Tier 1 suppliers all the way to the farm.

Engaging in CottonConnect’s programmes helps you to build a more resilient, transparent and sustainable supply chain in the following ways:

Map and optimise cotton supply chain to make it more transparent and resilient

Make use of our dedicated supply chain specialists in key cotton origin markets who have a proven approach to mapping supply chains, identifying opportunities and mitigating risks.

To support you in understanding those difficult-to-track last mile journeys, we have developed a bespoke, proprietary traceability software tool known as TraceBale. It provides visibility on all farmer transactions, verifying farm production against ginner procurement.

You can even use our TraceBale ID data to integrate into your existing yarn ID system to give your customers a full view of the cotton supply chain.

Bring people together

You have a chance to get closer to your suppliers. We regularly bring together stakeholders, internal buying teams and suppliers for meetings, as well as organise and facilitate workshops that improve knowledge and awareness of sustainable cotton.

This gives brands and retailers the confidence to know where their sustainable cotton has come from and how it was produced.

Making sustainably sourced fibres available when you need them

We know that it’s important that the right fibre is available when it is needed. By creating good supplier relationships and providing on-the-ground support we can more easily link sustainable fibre into your supply chain so that it’s ready to buy when you need it..

So often in the fashion sector, supply chains are based on transactional relationships, with buyers and sellers rarely meeting each other, and ‘middle-men’ also taking a cut of the proceeds.

We believe in helping brands, suppliers and farmers develop and maintain partnerships that are truly transformational. These relationships are built on a genuine understanding of the pressures and challenges faced at all stages of the supply chain. They require trust from all parties, working towards a common goal and creating shared value for everybody.

During the last 10 years, we have worked with more than 25 brands and retailers, including C&A, Primark, Mark’s Canada, Kering, Volcom, John Lewis, Carrefour, Whitbread and Lindex.
